Western Yar Estuary Circular Walk
This walk follows the Western Yar Estuary from its mouth at Yarmouth, crossing the saltmarsh at Freshwater Causeway before returning through farmland along the western shore to Yarmouth.

Terrain details: The first half of the walk is very flat and follows a surfaced cycleway. On the western shore, the route follows public footpaths and is more undulating and can be muddy.

Amenities available on route: Yarmouth has many shops, pubs and cafes. The Red Lion near Freshwater Causeway serves food and has a large beer garden but children are not allowed inside the pub itself. There are picnic tables on the grass near the car park in Yarmouth.
How to get there: Wightlink Ferries run to Yarmouth from Lymington - visit www.wightlink.co.uk for more info. Yarmouth has bus stops - see www.svoc.co.uk for timetable. The path along the eastern shore is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs in dry weather but you would have to return the same way.
