Over the Downs to Oxted Mill
linear walk through the North Downs from Woldingham station to Hurst Green station, passing the historic High Street in Old Oxted and Oxted Mill. The route goes through ancient woodland and chalk grassland, both rich in wild flowers, and there are good views towards the south coast over the Sussex Weald.

Amenities available on route: In Woldingham there is a tearoom in Knights Garden Centre, just a few minutes walk from the station along Woldingham Road (turn left from the ticket office). There are a number of pubs in Old Oxted High Street near point 6, and the Haycutter pub at Broadham Green near point 8. There are toilets and snack kiosk at Hurst Green station, with shops nearby.
How to get there: You may wish to take the train from Hurst Green to Woldingham to start the walk, and return to Hurst Green on foot. Trains run approximately half-hourly between the two stations (hourly on Sundays). An adult single ticket costs approximately £2.40 and the journey takes 10 minutes. Trains are operated by Southern railway on the London Victoria to East Grinstead line.
Parking: There is a small pay and display car park at Hurst Green station. In Woldingham there is a pay & display car park at the station, a District Council pay & display car park on Woldingham Road near the station, and limited parking along Church Road adjacent to railway.
