Dell Quay Circular - Chichester Harbour
A figure of eight walk of 4 miles from Chichester Marina to Dell Quay and back again, through harbour countryside, along the shoreline and by an old canal.
Walking Route Details:
County: West Sussex
Distance: 4 miles
Difficulty of walk: Leisurely
Estimated time to complete walk: 2
Type of route: Circular
Starts: Chichester Marina(Grid reference: SU 836011)
Ends: as above(Grid reference: as above)
Amenities available on route: Toilets - are available in the north corner of the Marina next to the woodland (opposite end to the visitors car park).
Cafés - There is a café, called Spinnakers, open to the general public in the Marina village. It is also licensed as a bar.
Pubs - There is a pub on the shoreline at Dell Quay, the Crown and Anchor, which is famous for its wonderful view of the harbour (especially at sunset!).
How to get there: By car - Chichester Marina is located about 3 miles south of Chichester, signposted off the A286, on the edge of the harbour village called Birdham. Free parking is available in the visitors car park and there is plenty of parking space. It is much easier to park there than in the village of Dell Quay where there is no car park, only roadside parking, which on a busy day can see cars parked up to half a mile away from the shoreline.
By bus - services 52 and 53 run from Chichester along the A286 headed for the Witterings. You can get off the bus at the entrance road to the Marina or alternatively, by the turning to Dell Quay.
